What You Can Expect
Starting a building project can feel daunting but we’re here to guide you through the process.
Here are the steps that all of our projects go through – from start to completion, so you know what to expect at every point of your building project.
Initial Contact & Assessment
We begin every project in the same way: with a phone call. This helps us to learn more about your plans, ideas and expectations, and enables us to have a better understanding of the sort of results and outcomes you’re hoping for. We’ll arrange a convenient time for us to visit your property, establish a plan of action, and chat in more detail about the project objectives and goals.
Plan Finalisation
If you already have plans – either your own, or through working with an architect or designer – we’ll discuss these with you to ensure we’re all on the same page. If you don’t already have plans, don’t worry! After more than 20 years as a builder in Hertfordshire, we’ve developed a trusted network of architects and surveyors we can recommend.
Quotation
We’ll create a single, simple quotation that clearly and transparently outlines all costs involved in turning your plans from concept into reality. Each quote we produce is fully itemised, with absolutely no hidden fees. If there’s anything you don’t understand – or you have any questions at all – don’t hesitate to ask. Our team are here to help, and are happy to take the time to talk things through.
Paperwork & Documentation
Once you’ve signed off on the quote and paid the agreed deposit, we’ll start creating all the necessary paperwork needed to get the project underway. We’ll draft up a schedule of works, showing a seamless journey from start to finish, and a payment schedule for your convenience and peace of mind. At this stage, we’ll also agree on a start date and let you know what to do in preparation.
Commencement of Works
Our reliable, professional labourers will begin work on-site as agreed. Proud to be a team, our skilled experts pull together and support each other to get the job done. This helps ensure complete efficiency, and reduces the risk of delays. Even when work is well underway, project manager Terry retains an active role, and is always available to discuss the project and keep clients up-to-date.
Completion
Payments are due according to the agreed payment schedule and, once work has been finished and the final payment made, we’ll issue a certificate of completion to confirm everything has been carried out as intended. We’re proud to build strong, long-lasting relationships with our clients, and we hope you’ll consider working with us again in the future for your next home building project.
